Jools & Jim's Joyride Returns

Jools & Jim's Joyride Returns

Jools Holland and his close friend, legendary comedian and artist Jim Moir (AKA Vic Reeves), have regrouped and packed their bags to head off together on another series of Jools and Jim’s Joyride – the podcast where they invite a special guest to discuss their favourite travel tales and the trips that shaped who they are today.

Returning on Wednesday 5th October, join Jools and Jim as they take to the road (and sky, and sea) for another series of Joyride, kicking off with singer-songwriter Marc Almond as their special guest. The Soft Cell vocalist shares where to find the best fish and chips, owning cars he can’t drive; plus the three discuss eclectic shared houses, and Marc divulges the secrets of jackdaw ownership. There’s talk of prehistoric birds, stolen leather jackets and an Anglo-American cultural exchange; and while Jim samples “food of the world” on a mountain top, Jools causes a stir with an uncanny impression…

The following week, episode 2 will see Jools and Jim switch off the engine and cast a line with Harry and Paul and The Fast Show star, Paul Whitehouse. The actor and comedian takes Jools and Jim on a trip through East Germany, despite sharing a less than encouraging motto for travel; and the three consider different approaches to fishing (and birdwatching). Paul recounts salmon fishing in Russia, the most delicious apple juice he’s ever sampled, and he and Jim think back to driving together in a gold Hillman Imp. Meanwhile, the three workshop an idea for a makeshift toilet, and Jools notes Paul’s lack of a watch…

Past Joyride podcasts have included such diverse guests as Brad Paisley, Bella Freud, David Arnold, Bob Mortimer, Jane Horrocks, Jessie Ware, Suggs, Rob Brydon and many more.

This season will be equally as eclectic with the likes of Melanie C, Paul Whitehouse, Vick Hope, Shaun Keaveny, Nik Hodges, Pam Hogg and Olly Smith all joining Jools and Jim to reveal tales and memories of their travels.

Commenting on the return of the show, Jools said, ‘We can’t wait to get back with this new series and have assembled the greatest line-up of guests so far. We have had some real eye-opening moments, giving us a real insight into the lives of some of the most well-loved celebrities who have been kind enough to chat to Jim and I.

Concocted during Jools and Jim’s time on Celebrity Gogglebox, Jools and Jim’s Joyride is a celebration of all things travel, from luxury of air travel to beaten-up bangers, as guests are invited to parallel park on memory lane. Streaming on all major podcast platforms, series five of Jools and Jim’s Joyride has been produced by Molly Stewart for Dig! Studios and Warner Music Entertainment.
