New Book About Bookshops From Robin Ince

New Book About Bookshops From Robin Ince

Why play to 12,000 people when you can play to twelve? In Autumn 2021, Robin Ince's stadium tour with Professor Brian Cox was postponed due to the pandemic. Rather than do nothing, he decided he would instead go on a tour of over a hundred bookshops, from Wigtown to Penzance; from Swansea to Margate.

Packed with anecdotes and tall tales, Bibliomaniac: An Obsessive’s Tour of the Bookshops of Britain, follows Robin up and down the country in his quest to discover just why he can never have enough books. It is the story of an addiction and a romance, and of an occasional points failure just outside Oxenholme.

Robin Ince is a multiple award winning comedian best known for co-hosting the international smash hit, Rose D’Or and Sony Award winning BBC Radio 4 and podcast series, The Infinite Monkey Cage, with Professor Brian Cox and the acclaimed Book Shambles podcast with Josie Long and Science Shambles series with Dr Helen Czerski.

He has been the co-curator and host of some of the most acclaimed live science shows and tours in the UK including Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless/Curious People, Uncaged Monkeys, Brian and Robin’s Christmas Compendium of Reason and the hugely popular Space Shambles and Sea Shambles shows at the Royal Albert Hall. He is currently on a new ground breaking international arena tour, Horizons: A 21st Century Space Odyssey, with Professor Brian Cox.

He also won Celebrity Mastermind but forgot that calcium was the dominant element of chalk and is currently trying to invent an effective satnav for people who believe the world is flat.

Bibliomaniac by Robin Ince is published on October 6. Pre-order here.
