TV: Would I Lie To You? The Unseen Bits With Bob Mortimer and Lots More

While it's always sad when a series of Would I Lie To You? comes to an end we can always cheer ourselves up by looking forward to an episode featuring the bits that didn't make the cut. Series 15's unseen bits get their airing this week*, with regulars Rob Brydon, Lee Mack and David Mitchell joined by a host of names that we love. Including one name that a lot of us love more when he is on this show than many of the other names.

Among the guests are Bob Mortimer, Lady Leshurr, Alan Titchmarsh, Angellica Bell, John Cooper-Clarke, Ardal O'Hanlon, Sarah Millican, Yung Filly, Holly Willoughby, Suggs, Philippa Perry, Chris McCausland, Judi Love, Jim Broadbent, Rose Matafeo, Gyles Brandreth and Lou Sanders*. Yes, that's right, we get to see some more of Bob Mortimer. And let's be honest his unseen bits are probably more worth seeing than some of the other guests' seen bits.

Some of the other guests do know how to spin a yarn too. Gyles Brandreth has an anecdote for every ocassion and seems to know everyone – he was even in the Mary Whitehouse documentary the other night – so if he doesn't have a few believeable tales up his sleeve I'll eat one of his discarded woolly jumpers.

Sarah Millican is pretty good at talking the hind legs off a donkey and Ardal O'hanlon knows how to blather on. If blathering was an Olympic sport he'd certainly make it into the Irish team.

And then, of course, we have bard of Salford and all round word-munching chatterbox John Cooper-Clarke. I've got to be honest, as much as i've always loved him, I never thought the punk rock poet wth the bird's nest hairdo would ever be in the running for national treasure, but he is surely next in line after Judi Dench. Though he might have to slug it out with that man Bob Mortimer. But then Cooper-Clarke is always full of surprises. A younger generation might know him best for his cereal encounters with the Honey Monster.

Anyway, I digress. And I should be leaving that sort of thing to the guests tonight...

Would i Lie To You?, Friday, April 1, 8pm BBC One.

*there are actually two episodes of unseen bits so I suspect some of the stars billed will appear in next week's episode.
