Manford’s Comedy Club Unveils New 2022 Openings

Manford’s Comedy Clubs has announce its continued expansion with three additional venues opening soon. Irlam Catholic Club opens on 29 April, followed by the 500-seater Arts Theatre, New Mills, on 30 April. Paul Sinha from ITVs The Chase will headline at Burnley Mechanics Theatre on 18 June with many more venues to be announced throughout the year.

In addition to this, MCC are delighted to announce a new partnership with comedian Alex Boardman’s Kidz Comedy Live venture, which brings fun, family friendly live comedy shows to towns and villages all over the country. This venture provides a fun and lively atmosphere for children to immerse themselves in, while parents relax, knowing that for very little effort, they provide their whole family with a fun day out.

Plans for developing Manford’s Comedy Clubs around the country were halted when Covid hit and events were cancelled.

But during the lockdown period, the team explored other opportunities to bring comedy to the fans and to help keep circuit acts in work during this difficult time.

Together with Jason Manford, and its sponsor Iceland, the team was proud to launch ‘The Weekly Stand-Up’, an online comedy event bringing laughs straight into homes of people via Zoom.

Special guests including Harry Hill, David Walliams, Rob Brydon, Russell Howard, John Bishop and tenor singer Alfie Boe, McFly’s Tom Fletcher and children’s entertainer Hacker T Dog came on board to help support these events and keep the comedy circuit going.

Manford’s Comedy Club rebranded and set its focus on its initial plan to expand its operation. As restrictions were lifted and outdoor events resumed, the team worked with local festivals such as Manchester’s Hope Fest, Preston’s Crafty Vintage Festival and Tatton Park’s summer festival.

The latest clubs, Rugby’s McCready Theatre, Colne’s Muni Theatre and Rawtenstall’s St Mary’s Chambers, came to fruition towards the end of 2021.

With people now enjoying live events again, there has been a rise in demand for comedy for corporate and charity events. We are always on hand and readily available to provide event organisers with suitable acts to entertain their audiences.

All this, coupled with providing support acts for Jason Manford’s mammoth ‘Like Me’ tour, and preparing for next year’s comedy festival in Blackpool, we have an exciting and busy year ahead of us.
