Bristol Comedy Garden presented by heycar is set to light up The Downs this summer with a spectacular tenth anniversary edition from 15-19th June!\
Netflix star and Perfect Sounds host JAMES ACASTER, Qi’s ALAN DAVIES, This Way Up’s AISLING BEA, the Mash Report’s NISH KUMAR, Starstruck’s ROSE MATAFEO, Father Ted star ARDAL O’HANLON, Taskmaster's PHIL WANG, lo-fi hero DAVID O’DOHERTY, one-liner king MILTON JONES and many more huge names will be performing at this year’s astounding series of open-air shows, marking ten glorious years of unbeatable entertainment in the city.
Comedy Garden favourites are out in force too with the return of podcast hero JOHN ROBINS, Taskmaster champ LOU SANDERS, Viceland’s JAMALI MADDIX, Ventriloquism queen NINA CONTI, cult comic/poet TIM KEY, stand-up superhero KIRI PRITCHARD-MCLEAN, Last Leg regular ROSIE JONES and many more.
Alongside established names sit some of the brightest in breakthrough talent such as the acclaimed ESTHER MANITO, fast-rising TADIWA MAHLUNGE and CHLOE PETTS, award-winning JOSH JONES and CELYA AB all making their Comedy Garden debuts.
Good times are always guaranteed at the Southwest’s brightest comedy extravaganza, with this year’s event also seeing the welcome return of walk-up bars and street-food stalls.
This crowd-pleasing festival returns to The Downs following its epic socially-distanced version last summer, which saw sell-out crowds basking in the glory of the return of live entertainment. This year’s event is a true return to form with masterfully curated comedy shows paired with a taste-maker selection at the bars, and street-food from the leading lights of the local scene.
The Devon-raised sibling team behind the festival, Will Briggs and Cass Randolph of 57 Festivals, can't believe it’s been a decade "We love bringing these shows to the Southwest, the audiences are the best and the acts feed off that energy and give such brilliant performances. We’ve had a blast each year first in Queen Square, and now on The Downs and it’s going to be amazing to bring the festival back, in all its glory, to our new home this summer.
