Award-winning podcast Something Rhymes with Purple, fronted by Gyles Brandreth and Susie Dent, is set to tour the UK.
Hosted by Tilted, Something Rhymes with Purple LIVE brings the essence of what the podcast makes so special into a unique experience for its premiere stage adaptation. Expect theatrical antics from the show’s affable hosts Gyles Brandreth and Susie Dent as they bring to the stage all the trademark repartee and wordplay of the podcast, and segments including ‘Susie’s Trio’, Gyles’ poetry, the bizarre origins of sayings, lots of myth busting and a deep dive into the way that theatre has shaped our language and expressions.
Each show will focus on a different theme within the world of words, and will be recorded to make up special episodes of the podcast so that no two shows will be the same.

The live show will premiere on 20th November at Bath Forum, followed by shows at Chichester Festival Theatre on 28th November, Birmingham Town Hall on 19th December, Newcastle Northern Stage on 13th February and two dates at London’s prestigious Cadogan Hall - on Saturday 15th January and Saturday 19th March 2022.
Since its launch in 2019, Something Rhymes with Purple, winner of the Gold Award for Best Entertainment Podcast at the British Podcast Awards 2020, has quickly become one of the nation’s most-cherished podcasts. The podcast combines the infectious personas of Susie Dent, the star of Countdown's dictionary corner and author and broadcaster, Gyles Brandreth, with an educational streak that sees the pair discussing everything from the history of swear words to the etymology of archaeology.
