Ian Cognito Film Wins Award

A film charting the life and times of controversial British comedian Ian Cognito has won a major award at an American film festival.

Ian Cognito: A Life And A Death On Stage won the Best Feature Documentary Award at the LA Indies Festival. The documentary was directed by Joe Bor and Danny Ward and features footage of Cognito in action and contributions from numerous comedians including Matt Lucas, Shappi Khorsandi, James Acaster, Jo Brand and John Robins.

Cognito was famous for his unedited stand-up performances. He was known to walk onstage, hammer a nail onto the wall and hang his jacket on it before he started his sets.

He died onstage at a gig in Bicester in April 12019.

The aim is to show the film at festivals and hopefully get it aired on TV and get a cinema release.

There is a gofundme campaign to raise money for it to be entered into festivals to raise its profile. Contribute here. You can also view the film via this link.
