News: Netflix Special For Loyiso Gola

Double International Emmy Award nominated comedian Loyiso Gola has announced his brand-new hour-long comedy special, ‘Unlearning’, which was recorded at Cape Town’s prestigious Zeitz Museum of Modern Art for Netflix, ‘Unlearning’, released on 23rd March 2021 worldwide, is about unlearning all the inequality that black people learnt whilst growing up in South Africa. Along with his sharp observations, satirical wit and philosophical contemplations, Loyiso challenges societal norms and makes you question everything you thought you knew about politics, race & history.  

The South African comedian is a household name in his homeland with 12 seasons of ENCA’s the satirical news show ‘Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola’ under his belt for which he recieved two International Emmy nominations. Loyiso has had an unbelievable 26.5 million views of his ‘Live at The Apollo’ performance. He is the African correspondent for Charlie Pickering’s The Weekly on the ABC in Australia and has been featured on CNN’s profile series, ‘African Voices’. Other major tv-credits include 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock the Week and QI.

Loyiso’s live performances on international stages include Austin’s prestigious Moontower Festival, Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival,  Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and at Just for Laughs Montreal as part of Kevin Hart’s SVOD platform, the Laugh Out Loud Network.

As an actor he featured in the  Netflix Original ‘Catching Feelings’, which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and then at the Urban World Festival in New York City. He also appeared on 50 Cent’s sketch comedy television show ’50 Central'.  

Loyiso Gola: Unlearning is released on Netflix on March 23.
