David Blaine is coming back to the UK for live shows.
Known for his close-up street magic and elaborate, stunts, Blaine is one of the most recognisable and pioneering magicians currently performing.
He burst onto the scene with his self-directed and produced TV special Street Magic when he was just 23. Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller described the show as “the best TV magic special ever done”.
Blaine is famous for pushing his body to the limits in often death-defying situations. In 1999, Blaine spent one week buried alive inside a clear coffin in New York City and the following year stood inside a six-tonne block of ice for 63 hours with no food or sleep. In 2002, again in New York City, the magician spent 36 hours standing on top of a 30-metre tall pillar with no safety net.
The magician received huge attention from the UK press the following year with his Above the Below stunt, which saw the performer sealed inside a plexiglass box near Tower Bridge for 44 days.
Blaine’s special Real or Magic aired on TV in 2013 and featured the magician performing tricks on celebrities such as Bryan Cranston, Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford, Katy Perry, Olivia Munn, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx and more.
Similar to Real or Magic, his latest special Beyond Magic which aired in 2017 also featured David performing tricks on celebrities. Plus, on the show David was featured in a stunt in which he catches a bullet using his teeth, from a gun that he fired himself. The stunt was performed in front of a live audience at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
Now the revolutionary magician has confirmed he's bringing his first ever tour, the Real or Magic tour, to the UK this June.
