
American cop series Brooklyn Nine Nine lives to fight crime another day thanks to another network picking it up.
Following the news that Fox was no longer going to make the show NBC has announced that it will be making a sixth season which will be broadcast in 2019. NBC Entertainment's Chairman Robert Greenblatt said: "Ever since we sold this show to Fox I've regretted letting it get away, and it's high time it came back to its rightful home."
Following the news of the cancellation by Fox there was a huge campaign online, with the hashtag #Brooklyn99 going viral on Twitter.
Cast member Melissa Fumero, who plays Amy Santiago, tweeted her delight at the news: "#Brooklyn99 IS COMING BACK FOR SEASON 6 YOU GUYS ON NBC!!!!! You did this!! You got loud and you were heard and you saved our show!! Thank you!! Thank you to NBC!! NINE NINE!!!" She later added: "Whoa what a day! Ok, somehow going to try to sleep. All my love and gratitude again Nine Niners. More celebrating tomorrow and a new #Brooklyn99 episode on Sunday. Sweet dreams."
