
Entries are invited for the Jewish Comedian of the Year Award 2017, which takes place in December as part of the UK Jewish Comedy Festival in December.
Below is everything you need to know to enter the competition and be in the running for the prize of:
- £1000
- A slot at Abigail’s Party Comedy Cabaret
- A mentoring session with comedy agent Katya Balfour-Lynn (United Agents)
The competition will comprise of 2 heats. There will be 8 acts in the first heat on December 7th and the final will see the best 4 acts compete for the title and prize on December 9th. Competitors will perform a 5-minute set in the first stage and 7-10 minutes in the final. You must be available on these dates in order to be eligible for entry.
The competition is open to comedians of all levels. The judging panel will include actor and comedian Debbie Chazen, producer and booker Julia Chamberlain and comedy agent Katya Balfour-Lynn.
Please send a 5-minute clip of your material to [email protected] by midday on Monday 16th October 2017. If your video is longer than this, they will only watch the first 5 minutes. Videos submitted will only be used for purposes of this competition and will not be viewed externally.
Performers from all regions of the UK are welcome to enter, but please note that they are unable to cover travel expenses.
Entry closes on Monday 16th October at midday. Successful entrants will be notified by Wednesday 1st November.
