A number of special guests have been revealed for the new series of Red Dwarf, which starts on Dave in October.

They include James Buckley, Johnny Vegas and Helen George (pictured). George is best known for playing Trixie Franklin in the BBC's Call the Midwife.

Buckley will play a Kryten-like robot and Vegas will play a pink-clad policeman. He is a "Crit Cop" in a dystopian future where criticism has become illegal.

Inbetweeners star James Buckley tweeted: "Hey guys ... I'm in the next series of Red Dwarf by the way. How cool is that?!?!"

This will be the twelfth series of the enduring sci-fi sitcom.
