Voting has now opened for the Barry Awards (UK). This is the chance at the Edinburgh Fringe for comedians to vote for their favourite comedians.
These awards, also known as the Comedians’ Choice Awards, are not to be confused with the completely separate Barry Awards handed out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The UK version is named after Barry Ferns, who is one of the team behind Angel Comedy/The Bill Murray in London. This one is the only Edinburgh Fringe award determined solely by comedians. All comedians performing this year at the Fringe are invited to contribute their vote on who the award should go to.
Voting will finish on Friday the 25th - with the shortlist announced that day and the winner announced on Sunday the 27th.
There are three categories. Best Show, Best Performer and Best Person.
