Veteran American comedian Don Rickles has died of kidney failure in Los Angeles, aged 90. 

Rickles was one of the leading exponents of insult comedy and in later years became known to a whole new generation through voicing Mr Potato Head in the Toy Story movies. One of his famous animated insults which worked on a number of levels was calling a hockey puck "hockey puck". 

Rickles was also a respected actor, appearing in the Martin Scorsese film Casino.
