Interview: Rarely Asked Questions – Tape Face

The Boy With Tape On His Face had done pretty well. Following his success at the Edinburgh Fringe, reaching the final of America's Got Talent and announcing a run on the Las Vegas Strip he is coming to London with his first West End residency starting on June 6. If you haven't seen Tape Face – as he is now known – before, you are in for a genuine treat. Leave all your preconceptions and prejudices about silent comedy at the door as New Zealander Sam Wills welcomes you into his magical world where everyday objects from toilet seats to balloons take on a whole new meaning. The West End season promises to be a bigger, brighter and more theatrically spectacular re-imagining of everything his fans have come to expect. In a rare break from tradition Tape Face spoke - well, wrote down the answers – to our Rarely Asked Questions. Have a read, but, more importantly, buy a ticket.

Tape Face will be at the Garrick Theatre from Tuesday, 6th June to Saturday, 22nd July 2017. Tickets and details here.

1. What is the last thing you do before you go onstage (apart from check your flies and/or check your knickers aren't sticking out of your skirt and check for spinach between your teeth)?

2. What irritates you?

People who don’t say H properly and slugs.

3. What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done?

I once drank milk that was past the use by date. Living on the edge.

4. What is the most stupid thing you have ever done?

see above

5. What has surprised you the most during your career in comedy?

The realisation that most people are bluffing.
