Radio 4 favourite John Finnemore, the writer and star of John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme and Cabin Pressure is bringing his brand-new sketch show to the stage. Souvenir Cabin will run from 30th September - 11th October at London's Shaw Theatre.
Finnemore is best known for writing and co-starring in Radio 4 sitcom Cabin Pressure, which ran from 2008 – 2014. He played the part of the idiotic, but endearingly cheerful Arthur alongside co-star Benedict Cumberbatch; the multi award-winning show broke all BBC Radio 4 box-office records with over 23,000 fans applying to see the final show being recorded.
His other notable work includes the BBC Radio 4 radio sketch show, John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, which he performs with Simon Kane, Carrie Quinlan, Lawry Lewin and Margaret Cabourn-Smith.
The live show will be a mixture of favourite sketches from John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, brand new never-seen-before sketches, a 'Since You Ask Me' adventure (the storytelling element of the Radio 4 sketch show), possibly a song or two… and a specially written new monologue by Mr. Arthur Shappey (from Cabin Pressure), who will be making his first live stage appearance.
Each show will feature one of five guest stars: the four cast members of John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, plus Kevin Baker, the 'Kevin' from John’s popular YouTube series – “John and Kevin's Sunday Papers”.
The selection of sketches will be slightly different for each performance and on the two Sundays, Kevin and John will do a live 'Sunday Papers'.
