House Of Games With Michael Sheen, Lou Sanders, Toby Olubi, Rick Edwards and Cheryl Baker

Michael Sheen is doing pretty well as the new host of House of Games. The programme hasn't really changed at all since he took over, only the faces on the prizes has changed. I wonder what happened to any leftover wheelie luggage with Richared Osman's picture on it. Maybe they could give ti away to people who buy his book.

Actually that's not strictly true. The programme has changed since Michael Sheen took over. It has become more Welsh. Last week when part of the answer to one of the Answer Smash questions, 'what is the second biggest city in Wales?' was Swansea, Sheen was quick to chip in to say that the Welsh name is Abertawe, though of course that wouldn't work in the Answer Smash. I guess we can allow him a few personal references in the same way Richard Osman wasn't averse to being a bit nerdy.

Anyway, this week's guests on the show are Lou Sanders, Toby Olubi, Rick Edwards and Cheryl Baker. Comedian Sanders has become a regular face on TV panel shows in recent years, appearing on Taskmaster and The Way Out and lots of other shows. She's about to appear on the Last One Laughing Halloween special on Prime Video – the first episode goes out at the end of this week, so if House of Games gets you in the mood for Lou that's where you can see her next.

Rick Edwards is best known as the handsome host of daytime BBC game show Impossible so this week the boot is on the other foot with him answering the questions. As well as being something of a Joel Dommett lookalike he is a big comedy fan – I once pushed past him at the door when I was late for an Aziz Ansari show at the Eventim Apollo. When he was at Cambridge he performed in sketches and is a contemporary of Tim Key (who, famously, was in Footlights but didn't actually go to Cambridge).

If you aren't watching House of Games to cheer on the comedians however, Toby Olubi is an English sprinter and bobsledder. He competed in the Bobsleigh four-man event at the 2018 Winter Olympics. And music fans of a certain vintage will always remember Cheryl Baker as one of the members of Buck's Fizz who whipped their skirt off when they performed Making Your Mind Up at the Eurovision Song Contesdt back in 1981. By the way, they won Eurovision that year. Now that's weird – can you imagine that? A UK act winning the Eurovision Song Contest. Let's see if her winning streak returns this week.
