Award winning British stand up comedian and writer Shazia Mirza has announced a 14-date UK tour of her brand new show ‘PRUDE!’, travelling across the country from Thursday 11th March - Thursday 15th April 2027.
The tour is set to see her return to her second home of East London with a massive show at Soho Theatre Walthamstow on Thursday 25th March 2027.
A brand-new show about expectations, identity and other dirty words.
“If you look a certain way, talk a certain way, and joke about certain things, you get used to people saying what they think of you. Bring it on. But recently I was stunned when a man called me ‘a prude’, like that’s a bad thing! How is it that in 2027 being a prude has become a disgraceful slur? Something to be ashamed of, that we should want to deny? Shouldn't it be the other way round?
Being a prude should be celebrated! Glorified! Rewarded! As a Muslim girl in Birmingham, a teacher in East End schools, and a woman in showbiz, I've met them all, from prudes to pros to perverts, and trust me, I know what’s best. I’m coming out - prude and proud!
Shazia Mirza is an award winning British stand up comedian and writer.
In 2023 The Telegraph named her as one of the 50 defining comedians of the century.
Shazia’s show ‘Coconut‘ played over 100 dates across 2022 and was nominated for ‘Best Stand Up Tour’ in Channel 4’s National Comedy Awards.
Her shows; ‘With Love From St. Tropez’ toured internationally in 2017/18, and the critically acclaimed; ‘The Kardashians Made Me Do It’, played for 103 nights internationally across the UK, US, Sweden, Ireland and France and completed four sell out runs at London’s Soho Theatre in 2016/17 and was widely described as a ground breaking piece of comedy.
Shazia’s has numerous TV appearances, with highlights including Eastenders (BBC), QI (BBC), Would I Lie To You (BBC), Celebrity Apprentice (BBC), The Jonathan Ross Show (ITV), Blankety Blank (BBC), Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC), Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls (C4), Travel Man (C4), Have I Got News For You (BBC), The One Show (BBC), Loose Women (ITV) and Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins (C4).
