The BBC has released a first look clip from the upcoming second series of the award-winning comedy Funboys, featuring Steve Coogan.

Funboys Series Two stars Ryan Dylan, Rian Lennon, Lee R James and Ele McKenzie, with the award-winning actor Steve Coogan joining the series. Returning cast members also include Brian Devlin, Owen Colgan, Paul Bazely and Richard Croxford. Alongside Steve Coogan, Nicky Harley, Saorlaoith Brady, Lalor Roddy, Donal O’Hanlon and Amanda Doherty have joined the cast of this series.

After last year, tackling the weight of grief and suppository drugs, the gang have come out the other side all grown up. Callum’s trying out a lovely perm, Gemma and Lorcan are smooching seven times a day, and it's been four months since Jordan’s last full throated screaming strop with his Daddies.

To accompany the second series, the BBC has announced a new spin-off series - Fair Game, a video game review show presented by Funboys. The show is hosted by three of the biggest, coolest gamers in Ballymacnoose, and Gemma. Sponsored by Jordan's daddies, who bought him the microphones, Jordan and Callum host with our lovely permanent on-site guest Lorcan and resident Gamer Girl Gemma (GG, GGG). Watch these funboys eat, sleep and, most importantly, PLAY videogames.

With celebrity guest Roger Craig Smith (Sonic the Hedgehog, Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil), expect heated debates, thoughtful insights and expert opinions on things like ‘is it healthy for people to play life simulators, especially men in their late 20’s who haven’t fully matured in adult life?’ and 'does Herdy Gerdy have better storytelling than the Last of Us Part 2?”

Executive Producer, Simon Mayhew-Archer of Mayhay Studios says: “I love making this show with the gang and am extremely grateful to the BBC for continuing to back new comic talent. My favourite sitcom of all time is ‘I'm Alan Partridge’ so to get to work with Steve Coogan was the second best day of my life (first was when I went to Silverstone and shook Jackie Stewart's hand. Superb)."

Steve Coogan, says: “I loved working with them. They are an original voice in comedy and they have bright futures ahead of them. Properly funny fellas. Rian’s direction was clear and confident, always on the money. Sorry this reads like a reference. The point is they know what they’re doing.”

Fair Game: A video game review show presented by Funboys, is part of the BBC's strategy to commission content for YouTube - with short-form, personality-driven content that is designed to engage new audiences both on YouTube and BBC iPlayer.

Funboys Series Two airs on BBC Northern Ireland and iPlayer June 15, BBC Three June 19 and BBC One June 20.
