BBC Studios has announced some high‑profile format adaptations currently underway with major American networks, studios, and showrunners across both streaming and broadcast.
Among the projects in active development is a US adaptation of the acclaimed and now Broadcast Award‑winning BBC Studios comedy Here We Go, created and written by Tom Basden. The original BBC series, which debuted as a single episode pilot called Pandemonium in 2020 before returning for a full series in 2021 (a fourth season has been announced), follows the chaotic Jessop family through the handheld camera of teenage son Sam. The series stars Alison Steadman, Katherine Parkinson and Jim Howick, as well as Basden. The U.S. version is currently in development with Universal Television, written by Matt Murray, with Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions attached to executive produce.
BBC Studios is also developing a U.S. adaptation of its hit UK comedy Mammoth with FOX Entertainment. The original BBC series, created by and starring Welsh comedian Mike Bubbins, follows Tony Mammoth, a 1970s PE teacher who is frozen in an avalanche in 1979 and revived in 2024, returning to a world that has completely transformed. Filmed in Wales, Mammoth premiered its first full series on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer in April 2024 before returning for a second series in December 2025.
