Comedian Matt Hutchinson has written a book about his experience of working for the NHS, entitled Are You Really The Doctor?

As a black doctor, Hutchinson hears these words all too often. In this book, he offers a compelling glimpse into the unvarnished reality of working in healthcare as a member of an ethnic minority.

Hutchinson is a comedian, writer and NHS doctor specialising in rheumatology and general medicine. In 2023, he appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe with his debut show, 'Hostile'.
