News: Sky Arts Awards For Bridget Christie & Nick Helm

Bridget Christie

2013 Foster's Award Winner Bridget Christie and Nick Helm have been victorious today at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards. Christie's show A Bic For Her won the Comedy Category, beating fellow nominees Steve Coogan for Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa and Sky Arts’ Psychobitches which starred Mark Gatiss, Rebecca Front and Julia Davis. Stephen Mangan presented The Times Breakthrough Award to the comedian Nick Helm, currently starring in BBC 3’s Uncle.

Steve Coogan's Philomena was nominated in the Film category but lost out to Clio Barnard's The Selfish Giant. Other award winners were Arctic Monkeys and Broadchuch.

The Awards will be screened on Sky Arts 1 on January 30 at 9.30pm.

PS. By an interesting coincidence I've recently come across a YouTube clip of Ellen Denegeres doing a routine about Bic pens for women. Great stand-up feminist minds clearly think alike.
