News: Can Jess Fostekew Make It Three Wins In A Row for Comedy On House of Games?

Can comedian Jess Fostekew make it three wins on the bounce for comedians on House of Games in the final Friday show?

Two weeks ago Brighton-based stand-up Angela Barnes smashed various records on her way to being the overall winner, including winning all five episodes - an achievement that nobody else has ever matched in the history of the programme fronted by Richard Osman..

Last week Isy Suttie was crowned hampion against Rhys James, Olympic gold-winning athlete Denise Lewis and former footballer David James.

This week Jess Fostekew is a strong contender for winner having already been victorious during the week against fellow comedian Sara Barron, presenter Rickie H-Williams and Anton Du Beke.

There has been a little bit of controversy this week. In Thursday's final 'Answer Smash' round when contestants have to join the picture word to the question the question was "Which singer had a number 1 hit with Killer in 1990?" The answer given and accepted was Nicola Adamski, but as people pointed out on Twitter, Adamski was the musician, the singer was actually Seal, so the answer should have been Nicola Adamseal. If this had been corrected this would not have affected Fostekew winning the show though.

Fostekew was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2019 for her show Hench, about strength, gender, relationships, how her mother brought her up and how she was bringing her own son.

Sara Barron picked up a Best Newcomer nomination in 2018 for her full on first show For Worse, about her childhood in America and moving to the UK and marrying an Englishman. Barron lives in London and is married to Radio DJ Geoff Lloyd,

Future competitors this month include names from the world of comedy Josie Long, Lloyd Griffith and Jessica Knappett.

House of Games, Mondays to Fridays, 6pm, BBC2.
