Singer-songwriter and comedian Judith Owen has launched a new series called Super Divas!, starring two of her favorite ‘wonderfully awful’ female characters - narcissistic Greek opera singer/diva Arianna Uniboobolos and the big-voiced sex symbol, '60s icon/diva Dame Notting Leica (as featured in Derek Smalls “Lukewarm Water Live!” stage show). Rising to the challenge of these strange times, both put their mega-stardom to the side, whilst sharing their “isolation tips” for the everyday diva, proving that just like us, they’re like everyone else...
“I’ll be doing what I do best from a safe distance and without the need for any wipes or hand sanitizers - entertaining, sharing, and uplifting at a time when laughter and music are psychologically the best medicine,” says Owen. “I love variety shows and now I get to do my own version from the comfort of home.”
Owen continues, “Growing up around opera singers (my father was a tenor at ROH Covent Garden for 35 years), I got to see this incredible world up close, warts and all. I guess I’m just obsessed with larger than life stars in every field - the drama queens who give 1,000 percent - and loved the idea of showing them at home, in isolation, pretending to be normal, and worse, thinking of themselves as role models for us, the little people. Fabulously not like us after a life time of adoration... they’re entertainingly out of touch and eternally self-obsessed… and isn’t this why we love them?”

Super Divas! joins Judith Owen FFS! – her twice weekly at-home isolation world tour which streams music and laughter from a safe distance every Wednesday and Sunday, 2pm PDT / 5pm EDT / 10pm BST – as a way for Owen to use the creative tools she’s honed over the years to help distract, calm, entertain, and connect us all.

Owen recently wrapped a tour of Europe and the UK to adoring fans, during which time she joined Richard Thompson as a featured guest (along with a cavalcade of British rock and folk royalty) at his 70th birthday celebration at London’s Royal Albert Hall. She then joined another legend… bassist Derek Smalls (“formerly of the band formerly known as Spinal Tap”) for a series of concerts in the U.S. followed by a handful of intimate shows in Australia with percussionist Pedro Segundo. Judith Owen is co-creator and co-host of the annual “Christmas Without Tears” charity variety show that has featured guests including Steven Merchant, Tim Minchin, Catherine O’Hara, and many others.
