News: Virtual Pub Breaks Attendance Record

Online comedy club and pub The Covid Arms has broken the World Record for the most visitors to a virtual pub.

The Friday night 'lock in' had 6,215 visitors and raised over £32,000 for charity.

‘Landlady’ Kiri Pritchard-Mclean was joined by celebrity guests and the result was ratified by a representative of Guinness World Records on the night.

Guests included comedians Russell Howard, Nish Kumar and The Chase’s Jenny Ryan

Money raised went to The National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal.

The Covid Arms was founded in March by Pritchard-McLean, Jess Lea-Wilson and Jake Lea-Wilson. They got together to bring back live comedy during lockdown; broadcasting from the virtual ‘Covid Arms’ pub. Before this gig they had already raised £50k for charity, and have been able to pay some comedians who’ve lost their livelihood in the process.
