Tracy Morgan, comedian and 30 Rock star, remains in a critical condition following a car accident in New Jersey early on Saturday. It has now been confirmed that comedian and writer James McNair, known as Jimmy Mack, was killed in the accident. Six other people were injured.

Reports says that a tractor-trailer struck the Mercedes limousine bus they were travelling in early Saturday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike. Six vehicles were involved in the crash.

Morgan was previously a member of the Saturday Night Live team and had his own sitcom. The 45-year-old had performed in Dover, Delaware the previous night. He has appeared in numerous movies including Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Longest Yard, First Sunday, Rio and Why Stop Now.

In 2011 Morgan was involved in a controversy for making allegedly homophobic jokes during a gig in Nashville Tennessee. In 2013 he appeared at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and caused further outrage with outspoken routines about sex which prompted people to walk out of his shows.

Sky News has reported that a truck driver has been charged with death by auto in connection to the crash.
