News: Laugharne Weekend Festival Postponed

News: Gofundme Page Set Up For Laugharne Festival After Arts Council Grant Slashed Comedian Trevor Crook

The Laugharne Weekend Festival, which was due to take place in South Wales at the end of March, has been postponed until October 2. Comedians Mark Thomas, Robin Ince, Nick Revell and Susan Murray were among those due to appear. The organisers John Williams and Richard Thomas have issued the following statement.

Sorry everyone, after this last week there is clearly no sense in trying to stage a festival in a small township in two weeks time. It's inevitable that some acts would be unable to attend. It's sure that many ticket holders would be deeply uneasy about attending. And most importantly of all - there is real concern within the township as to the impact of the festival were it to go ahead.

So we've made the unwelcome decision to postpone the festival till October 2-4 this year. All tickets will remain valid but refunds will be available - please bear with us while we sort out the logistics.

I realise that this will be a major pain for all of you with accommodation booked. We have no power over that, but I very much hope that providers would accept a change of dates to October. If we can help we will.

Again our apologies. These are extraordinary times and we do need to focus on the bigger picture.

Hope to see you all in October. We are already starting to plan a great festival at a lovely time of year in West Wales. Most of the lineup we announced for this month will be appearing, plus some exciting names who couldn't make the original dates.

John and Richard
