News: Mark Thomas To Help Couple Renew Their Wedding Vows

Comedian, satirist and campaigner Mark Thomas has added a new string to his bow. He has been ordained by an internet church. It was something he did in preparation for a forthcoming show.

When Brighton resident Jennifer Goatley found out, she happened to be considering renewing her wedding vows with her husband, comedian Aidan Goatley. So they asked Thomas if he woukd officiate when they had their vows renewed and to their absolute delight he said yes.

The ceremony is not now going to be a private one. It is going to take place in the studio bar at the Komedia club in Brighton on September 20 and the public can buy tickets with the profits going to Brighton & Hove & Whitehawk Food banks.

Jennifer Goatley then asked Jen Brister (Live at The Apollo) and John Robertson (The Dark Room ‘Not to be missed’ – The Guardian) if they would be part of it and amazingly they said yes.

She also asked her husband, Aidan (‘Charmingly funny’- The Scotsman), if he’d MC and he said he “might be free.”

So, you are all invited. As long as you buy a ticket.

Mark Thomas will also be recording his latest podcast in London on February 18 & 19. Details here.

Mark Thomas Renewed My Wedding Vows is at Brighton Komedia on September 20. Buy tickets here.
