Brother and sister Charlie Cooper and Daisy May Cooper will be back as Cotswolds cousins Kurtan and Kerry Mucklowe in a new series of This Country in February 2020.

Talking about the new series on Sunday Brunch on C4 Charlie Cooper, who was originally only going to write and not act in it, expressed his surprise that the mockumentary about local people where he grew up had been so successful: "We didn't think anyone outside the Cotswolds would get it...but you have Kerry Kurtans everywhere."

The duo have a new book out, This Is The Country. Daisy May Cooper says "It contains everything that never made it into the series because it didn't fit into the plot points and lots of new stuff too such as The Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen Files." The TV designer lives in Gloucestershire so the comedy book includes a dossier on his sightings. "Because we always see him around the village," added Charlie.

They also revealed the inspiration for some of the supporting characters: "Len is based on this guy who sparked up a fag in Waitrose and said 'I shouldn't be doing this'."

Daisy May Cooper also appears in the new Armando Iannucci film The Personal History of David Copperfield.

This Country returns in February 2020.
