News: Steve Pemberton Joins Killing Eve Cast

Inside No. 9 co-star and co-writer Steve Pemberton is to join the cast of Killing Eve for the third series of the acclaimed drama.

No details have been revealed yet of Pemberton's role. He is one of a number of new actors who will be appearing alongside Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh in the series developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and based on the novels by Luke Jennings.

Also joining are Gemma Whelan, who was known as a character comedian before breaking through as an onscreen star in Game of Thrones.

Harry Potter‘s Pedja Bjelac is also in the third run of the BBC thriller, alongside Call My Agent‘s Camille Cottin, Raj Bajaj (A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding), Turlough Convery (Ready Player One) and Evgenia Dodina (One Week and a Day).

This is the latest role for Pemberton away from Inside No 9. Another new role is appearing as Emperor Claudius in the Sky Atlantic drama Britannia (pictured), which currently airs on Thursday nights. In Britannia Pemberton arrives on an elephant to soak up the conqueror’s glory - while battling Tourette’s and a rough bout of piles.‎

When he was cast in Britannia he said: “As soon as I read the stage direction 'The Emperor rides in on an elephant' I just knew this was the part for me.  Throw in piles, a stutter and a warm Roman bath with David Morrissey and the deal was done before I’d finished the script.”

The new series of Inside No. 9 has been filmed, with Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith once again writing and starring. Transmission date has not been announced yet.
