Comedians James Acaster and Ed Gamble are launching a new food-based podcast, entitled Off Menu, on Wednesday, December 5.

In each instalment the duo will invite special guests into their magical restaurant to each choose their favourite starter, main course, side dish, dessert and drink. 

By coincidence the first time I ever saw James Acaster perform he was doing a gig in a pop-up restaurant in Kilburn with Josie Long, so he does have a longstanding connection with food. I don't know about Ed Gamble.

One reviewer on iTunes has written:  it is literally the single most awful thing in the entire iTunes library." But as he admits he hasn't heard the podcast I think we can take their solitary star with a pinch of salt from the Off Menu condiments tray.
