British comedian Tessa Coates is to create, star in and executive produce a comedy series project, also executive produced by The Office’s Greg Daniels.

Deadline has reported that following competition among programme-makers to sign a contract ABC will be making a pilot. 

Earlier this year Coates performed at the Lyric Theatre and Improv Lab in Los Angeles and attracted the attention of a number of Hollywood executives, which Deadline suggests helped her to land this prestigious deal.

Coates, a member of sketch group Massive Dad, performed her latest solo show, Witch Hunt, at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.
