News: Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing Crowned Radio Times Champion

Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse: Gone Fishing has been crowned overall Champion in the Radio Times poll. The BBC2 series beat the other genre winners Versailles, Derry Girls and Shadowhunters in a four-way vote off.

At one point the series was in fourth place during the voting but as the 10pm deadline approached it picked up more votes than the others - people can vote as many times as they want – and finished with 33.73% of the votes, just beating Derry Girls into second place. The Irish sitcom bagged 30.41%.

Bob Mortimer tweeted: "WE WON!.. that was fun.. like an exciting race to a nice landmark.. Thank you so much to everyone who voted. HA HA HA HA "
