After a break in 2017, the Comedy Poster Awards is back at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year with their first two confirmed sponsors.
The awards will now partner with media sponsors British Comedy Guide (comedy.co.uk) and “craft beer discovery club” Beer 52, a growing local Edinburgh company*.
The Comedy Poster Awards, founded in 2014, will award a judges’ prize and the Beer52 Audience Award, which will be publicly voted for via a dedicated minisite developed and provided by British Comedy Guide.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and celebratory party, to be held toward the end of August in Edinburgh, with plenty of free beer provided to guests by Beer52.
Previous winners include Lou Sanders, Desiree Burch (2016), Michael Stranney and Olaf Falafel and Tom Parry (2015) and Ellie Taylor, Holly Walsh and Steen Raskopoulos (2014).
Both category winners will be awarded a cash prize, the sums of which will be confirmed in due course.
The awards are also looking for further sponsors. Do you own a brand that could support The Comedy Poster Awards? Be seen by tens of thousands of comedy fans attending the world’s biggest arts festival and sponsor our judges award? To find out more email [email protected]
Submissions are open now at comedyposterawards.co.uk
*Founded in the Summer of 2013, Beer52 was inspired by a motorcycle road trip that founder James Brown took with his Dad. Stopping at breweries in Belgium along the way, he found a love of craft beer. He set out to visit a new country every month in search of the best beers, his friend Fraser jumped on board for the ride and since then Beer52 has become the world's most popular beer club, delivering its subscribers a new crate of hand- picked craft brews each month.
An exclusive offer in conjunction with Comedy Poster Awards and British Comedy Guide offers new customers who visit the websites a completely free case of 8 beers for just £2.95 P&P, with no obligations to further purchase. Just visit: https://www.beer52.com/fringe
Beer52 founder James Brown says: “We are very excited to support the Comedy Poster Awards this year. Being based in Edinburgh, the Fringe is one of the highlights of our year. We hope that by giving away a free case of beer to everyone who votes in the competition, we’ll be able to raise the profile of some of the fantastic new talent that is performing this year.”
