James Acaster, Brett Goldstein and Alfie Brown are among the comedy highlights of this year's HowTheLightGetsIn Festival.

Also appearing are Annie McGrath, Sean McLoughlin, Edinburgh Fringe Best Show nominee Ahir Shah, Grainne Maguire, Ian Smith and many more.

James Acaster’s shows have earned him an unprecedented five nominations for Best Show at Edinburgh Comedy Awards. His regular appearances on Mock The Week, Netflix stand-up specials and his BBC Radio 4 series have earned him widespread admiration.

Comedy writer and performer Annie McGrath has written and appeared on ITV2’s @elevenish and Channel 4’s, Girls Go Trolling. Sean McLoughlin has recently supported Ricky Gervais on his ‘Humanity’ tour.

Other names include: Harriet Kemsley, Alex Kealy, Chris Stokes, Evelyn Mok, Lou Sanders, Olga Koch, Pierre Novellie, Luke McQueen, Ed Aczel, Stuart Laws and Garrett Millerick. 

Taking place 25 – 28 May in the magical setting of Hay-on-Wye, HowTheLightGetsIn is a five-day festival of philosophy and music that will explore the theme of Darkness, Authority and Dreams. In these dark and turbulent times, we face many dangers, threats and unknowns. What beliefs and authorities have led us here? What dreams and visions for the future might enable us to create a better world?

Boasting over 500 events and artists across 12 stages, HowTheLightGetsIn will bring the world’s leading thinkers to debate cutting edge ideas as well as an inspiring programme of music, comedy, culture and performance all set in atmospheric and intimate venues on the edge of the Black Mountains, alongside the river Wye.
