Les Dennis is to star in a new play in which a former comedy presenter and national treasure is thrust back into the limelight at the centre of a media frenzy.
End of the Pier, written by Danny Robins, will get its world premiere at the Park Theatre in north London, where it opens the new season. It will run from 11 July - 11 August.

Bobby was once a household name with 20 million TV viewers – but now the laughter has faded. Resigned to a life of solitude and second-rate panto performances, his glory days are behind him. When Michael, the nation’s favourite comedian, arrives at his door asking desperately for help to save his career, Bobby is unwillingly thrown into the limelight once again. Les Dennis has had an extensive TV career and is well known for his role in Coronation Street and as the host of Family Fortunes. Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners), soap star Nitin Ganatra and Tala Gouveia star alongside.
End of the Pier is a powerful new black comedy from Danny Robins, who wrote Rudy’s Rare Records, which starred Lenny Henry and Radio 4’s The Cold Swedish Winter.
