News: Award Wins For Trip To Spain, Detectorists

Detectorists and The Trip To Spain have both won awards at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards 2018.

Mackenzie Crook's BBC4 treasure hunter comedy won Best Comedy. Crook picked up the award with his co-star Toby Jones.

The Steve Coogan/Rob Brydon Sky Atlantic foodie comedy won Best Multichannel Programme. Its writer-director, filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, received the award. 

Elsewhere Mark Bonnar won Best Actor for his appearances in Eric, Ernie and Me (BBC Four) in which he played Eric Morecambe, Apple Tree Yard (BBC One), Catastrophe (Channel 4) and Unforgotten (ITV).

The Reasons To Be Cheerful podcast, presented by Ed Miliband and Geoff Lloyd won Best Podcast.
