News: Kickstarter Campaign To Fund Book Of Comedians' War Stories

A crowdfunding campaign has been set up to fund a book of cartoons and comedians' anecdotes about their worst gig experiences.

Three years ago Christian Talbot and Robbie Bonham started making cartoons about the joys and despair of being a comedian. They've been well received and some have been included in various copies of Fringe Pig magazine at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for past two years.

The book will bring together some of the best war stories from comedians working the UK/Irish comedy circuits with some of Christian and Robbie's cartoons and illustrations. From bombing onstage to traumatic car shares, weird audience members to MC's who can't remember the act's names.

It will include stories from a whole range of comedians, some more well known than others, including Ed Gamble, Mick Ferry, Phil Wang, Sameena Zehra, Paul Sinha, Kathryn Mather and many more.

The Kickstarter fund has launched today with the aim of reaching £1200 to fund the publication of the book through presales.

Talbot and Bonham are also interested in hearing from comedians who have a war story to tell about bad gigs, car shares, dodgy promotors or Edinburgh Fringe disasters. No more than 1,000 words. They can submit at [email protected]
