Paddington 2 has won the Peter Sellers Award for Comedy at the Evening Standard British Film Awards.

The box office hit that has been a success with adults and children alike also notched up another award - Gary Williamson, production design, won Technical Achievement Award.

Kristin Scott Thomas won Best Actress for her performance in black comedy The Party. And the film's director Sally Potter won the Amanda Eliasch Best Screenplay Award.

Actor Simon Russell Beale won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Lavrentiy Beria in Armando Iannucci’s The Death Of Stalin.
