Comedy Central has announced that their new series Roast Battle will take over Comedy Central UK for 5 nights in January, with every episode airing from Monday 15th January – Friday 19th January at 10pm in a ‘Roast Battle Week’ stunt on the channel. The new series features some of the UK’s finest comedians going head to head as they verbally battle it out to win with their quick wit and best insults.

The six-part series will pit some of the sharpest wits in British comedy against one another, with participants attempting to humorously ‘take down’ their opponent to win the ‘battle’. The gloves are coming off and no subject is off limits in the Roast Battle ring.

The series will see husband against wife, father against son and friend against friend with each episode culminating with one of two comedians crowned the winner by an all-star judging panel, featuring Jimmy Carr, Katherine Ryan and Russell Brand.

The series will see ultimate showdowns between Joel Dommett and Iain Stirling, Elliot Steel and Mark Steel, Joe Lycett and Nick Helm, Alex Brooker and Matt Forde, Desiree Burch and Daniel Sloss, Dane Baptiste and Tez Ilyas, Ed Gamble and Phil Wang, Harriet Kemsley and Bobby Mair, Sofie Hagen and Larry Dean, Fin Taylor and Paul Chowdhry, Alex Edelman and Jayde Adams and Tom Allen takes and Suzi Ruffell.

The launch of Roast Battle underlines Comedy Central UK’s ongoing push to diversify its British comedy offering and increase the volume of non-scripted comedy it broadcasts, all of which has helped to drive the channel to its current position of #3 entertainment channel. 

Roast Battle Week starts Monday 15th January at 10pm on Comedy Central UK.

Viewers will be able to catch up on the series weekly on Comedy Central UK starting Wednesday 24th January at 10pm.
