News: Keith Chegwin Has Died, Aged 60.

TV presenter and actor Keith Chegwin has died aged 60.

His family said he had endured a "long-term battle with a progressive lung condition" which "rapidly worsened towards the end of this year".

Chegwin was known for hosting programmes including children's game show Cheggers Plays Pop and Multi-Coloured Swap Shop. More recently he played a darker version of himself alongside Ricky Gervais in Extras and also appeared in the Gervais sitcom Life's Too Short. Gervais tweeted his own tribute: "So sad to hear about the death of the lovely & funny Keith Chegwin. RIP you National Treasure. ."

He had come in for criticism for repeating comedians' jokes on social media.

He leaves two children and his wife Maria. He was previously married to fellow Swap Shop presenter Maggie Philbin. His nephew, Hugo Chegwin, co-created BBC hit comedy People Just Do Nothing and plays Kevin "DJ Beats" Bates.
