News: Bobby Knutt Has Died

It has been reported that comedian/actor Bobby Knutt has died. He was 71.

Knutt was most famous recently for playing Eddie Dawson in hit ITV1 sitcom Benidorm (pictured).

Benidorm writer Derren Litten posted the news on Twitter: "Very sad Benidorm news guys. The wonderful Bobby Knutt has passed away suddenly aged 71. Sending our Beni love to his family."

The Sheffield-born performer cut his teeth as a stand-up comedian on the northern club circuit and appeared on ITV shows The Comedians and The Wheeltappers And Shunters Social Club. He also performed regularly in pantomime and later diversified into straight acting, playing a role in the Ken Loach drama The Price Of Coal in 1977. He also appeared in Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
