Veep, Saturday Night Live, Atlanta and Black Mirror were among the big winners at the 2017 Emmys.

The satirical series set in the White House won Best Comedy Series, while its star Julia Louis-Dreyfus won Best Comedy Actress for the sixth time.

Best Comedy Actor was Donald Glover for Atlanta. The show also won Best Comedy Directing.

Best Comedy Supporting Actress was Kate McKinnon for Saturday Night Live while Alec Baldwin picked up Best Comedy Supporting Actor for his performances on the same show. The long-running sketch show won Best Variety Sketch Series, Best Variety Series Directing and Best Variety Series Writing.

Aziz Ansari's Master of None won Best Comedy Writing for its Thanksgiving episode.

Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror episode San Junipero (pictured) won Best TV Movie and Brooker won Best Movie/Mini Writing. On collecting the award Brooker said: “I have heard 2017 described as being trapped, like being trapped in one long unending ‘Black Mirror’ episode. But I like to think if I had written it, it wouldn’t be quite so on the nose with all the Nazis and hate...San Junipero was a story about love – and love will defeat hatred, love will win."

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver won Best Variety Talk Series.
