The Bill Cosby sexual assault case has ended in the judge declaring a mistrial after the jury had been deadlocked after 53 hours of deliberations.

Cosby, 79, was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. His lawyers had argued the sex was consensual.

There could now be new proceedings with the prosecution pushing for a new trial.
