New Statesman writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran are to take part in a discussion about the state of the sitcom, entitled Situation critical: who will save the sitcom?
The talk, at 7pm on May 22 at the Museum of Comedy, suggests that it has never been harder to pitch new sitcoms. Marks and Gran have consistently created hit shows over four decades. Their credits also include Birds of a Feather, Goodnight Sweetheart and Shine On Harvey Moon.
In this Writers' Guild of Great Britain event they will be talking to writer James Cary (Miranda, Bluestone 42) about their careers, how to create a hit show, and how to revive one of TV's most popular genres. More guests to be announced.
Price, including free entry to the museum, is £10 standard, £5 WGGB members (WGGB members should contact Kate Glasspool for the discount code). Booking fees apply.
