The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award winners 2017 have been announced. 

They are as follows.

The 2017 Barry Award winner is Hannah Gadsby (pictured).

The Best Newcomer is a tie between Angus Gordon & Aaron Chen.

Comedy Festival Directors' Choice Award goes to Demi Lardner.

The Vodafone Peoples' Choice Award is a tie between and Judith Lucy & Denise Scott.

Pinder prize winner is Damian Power.

The 2017 Golden Gibbo Award goes to A Visit with Nan in a Caravan.

The Piece of Wood Award, goes to Luke Heggie.

Comedy superfan Will Erskine won the award for seeing the most shows at the Festival.
