News: Conservative Comic Geoff Norcott To Appear On Question Time

"Right leaning but well meaning" comedian Geoff Norcott is to appear on the Question Time panel on BBC1 tonight.

The news was announced via the BBC Twitter feed last night and the response was mixed. He was accused of having a cry "when he was the only right wing comic at the fringe" by Josephockey1, while Clarrknulp asked if Jim Davidson was unavailable.

Norcott, who voted for Brexit, responded with: "Nervous but excited. Hopefully there's valium in the green room."

The comedian, who has written for 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Live at the Apollo, wrote about his political beliefs on beyondthejoke last year here.

The programme goes out at 10.45pm. The other panellists are Labour's Diane Abbott, Tory James Cleverly, the SNP's Angus Robertson and the Mirror's Susie Boniface.
