News: Richard Gadd, Adam Riches, Katy Wix, Will Andrews To Guest In Alternative Panto

Edinburgh Comedy Award winners Richard Gadd and Adam Riches plus Katy Wix and Will Andrews will be making guest appearances as the mysterious Time Cop in alternative panto Ricky Whittington and his Cat. The millennial take on panto is written by comedians Liam Williams and Daran Johnson, who will also play the role at least once.

Gadd won acclaim for his theatrical, multimedia tour de force Monkey See Monkey Do at the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and was the first Scottish recipient of the Festival’s highest comedy honour since 1987. Riches won the same award in 2011.

The casting of Gadd is fitting as he also spent a large part of a recent fundraising gig for Ricky Whittington joking that he had not been cast as the piece’s main villain.

Producers have hinted that further performers could yet be drafted in to fill the rotating role in the production, which opens at New Diorama Theatre on 12 December and runs until 7 January.
