Glaswegian comedian Larry Dean has been crowned winner of the Amused Moose Comedy Award Final 2016. Runner up was Neal Portenza.
They came top out of the ten finalists in a show at the Space @ Symposium Hall at the Edinburgh Fringe today. The event was hosted by Ian Smith and the audience and industry panel decided the winner.
The Amused Moose Comedy Award searches for the best comedy shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from talent on the cusp of fame. Entry to the Amused Moose Comedy Awards, the ‘senior strand’ of the Amused Moose competitions, was open to all shows listed in the comedy section of the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe website for at least 18 dates which have not previously won a major comedy award. The Top Ten was selected by an industry panel, including critics, promoters and producers, who watched and scored all entries online, before viewing the long-list live in Edinburgh.
