
The BBC New Comedy Awards Final, compered by Mark Watson, was held today (Sunday) at the Edinburgh Festival and broadcast live on Radio 4 (with a break for The Archers while the judges came to a decision. The prize is £1000 and a script commission with BBC Radio Comedy.
The winner is Jethro Bradley.
The judges were comedians John Finnemore, Mark Steel, Katy Wix, BBC Radio 4 and 4 Extra’s Commissioning Editor for Comedy Sioned Wiliam and BBC Studios’ Head of Comedy Chris Sussman.
Previous finalists include Alan Carr, Peter Kay, Lee Mack, Julian Barratt, Marcus Brigstocke, Russell Howard, Rhod Gilbert, David O’Doherty and Shappi Khorsandi.
